Name:
Leslie Cordaro

City and neighborhood: I moved from a small town in Pennsylvania to Van Nuys, CA in 1985.

About: I transferred from Pennsylvania to Sun Valley, CA as a mail carrier. Once here I was rescuing dogs on my mail route and my coworker’s routes. Then one day on my route I heard kittens crying. I walked up to the vacant house and found two very small kittens that somehow had been separated from their mother. I put them in my mail satchel and took them to a lady on my route that I knew was involved with cats. Well, this same woman took me trapping, introducing me to FixNation in the process, and I haven’t stopped since. I was so fortunate to find out about FixNation through another trapper.

How long have you been volunteering with FixNation: I have been taking many cats and kittens to FixNation for over six years. I would meet people on my route and the subject of cats would come up. Next thing you know, I would have another place I would be trapping feral cats. I have just retired from the Post Office and still trapping. I have some time now to volunteer at FixNation.

It is such a rewarding feeling to give back a little after all the amazing things FixNation has done for all the cats that I have trapped. Everyone at FixNation is so committed to the animals. I have been to many clinics prior; however I have not found a group of people so devoted to the welfare of these cats and kittens like FixNation. I am proud to be a Volunteer at this exceptional non-profit organization.
