A little black cat named Roscoe

A story from Julio Segovia our Registered Veterinary Technician:DSCN0219DSCN0211

I was dropping my daughter, Jaylene, off at daycare. When out of nowhere a friendly black cat approached Jaylene and I. I started petting the little black cat. I walked my daughter into daycare, on the way back to my car the little black cat ran up to me. I opened my car door and he jumped into my car —making himself comfortable!

I decided to take him to work with me at FixNation. I knew I could at least scan him for a microchip — in hopes of getting him home. Upon arrival, I soon discovered he had no microchip. Such a friendly cat and no chip to get him back home. I examined him and verified he was not already neutered and found some injuries on him related to either fighting or something related to his environment.

FixNation neutered him and treated his wounds. This included putting a drain in so the wound would heal properly. He was given antibiotics and stayed with me for about 10 days. He fit in well with my household, but due to other circumstances — I was not able to keep him. He loved attention! He would come to you when called. He loved following me around my house, sitting on my desk while I was working or next to me on the chair!  We named him Roscoe because that is the street he was found on!

FixNation was fortunate enough to be able to get Roscoe up for adoption with one of our partners, Found Animal’s Adopt & Shop in Culver City. And we’re happy to report that he’s been adopted and is now enjoying life in his loving forever home!
