5 Easy Ways to Show Homeless Cats Some Love

Put out fresh food and water for homeless cats on a regular basis. cat-drinking

Life can be hard when you’re living on the streets and don’t know where your next meal will come from. There are thousands of “feeders” throughout Los Angeles who are a lifeline for hungry homeless kitties. Join us!

Learn about TNR and bring stray kitties to get fixed at FixNation. It’s free and super easy. Just fill out an application and register for a free training session. We’ll loan you a humane trap and provide lots of helpful information on how to trap and exactly what to do before and after each cat’s surgery. Then all you have to do is book a surgery appointment and get ready to trap!

Become an advocate for at-risk homeless cats in your community.

Homeless cats are very vulnerable to abuse, so keep an eye on the health and well-being of homeless cats in your neighborhood. If you find a stray cat, please do not take it to a local shelter—and encourage others to avoid shelters, too. There is no such thing as a no-kill shelter in Los Angeles—even so-called “no-kill shelters” cannot adopt out feral cats, so these cats are all euthanized. Instead, try the find the owner or take kitty to a reputable rescue organization (see “Helpful Links & Organizations” in footer below).

Provide a safe and warm winter shelter for homeless cats.

Treat homeless cats with the kindness & compassion all living creatures deserve.

Homeless cats are not disease-carrying public nuisances, as some people claim. They are just as worthy and deserving of love as a pampered pet cat, except they happen to live exclusively out of doors. Be sure to greet them with a smile and some kind words, and give them a gentle pat (if they’ll let you!). A little compassion goes a long way!
