Karn Myers’ corporate-level experience in international business and the entertainment industry provided her with the ideal skill set to serve as FixNation’s Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer. After becoming aware of the plight of homeless cats while working on the set of Titanic, Karn was motivated to take action and co-founded FixNation with her late husband, Mark Dodge. The award-winning, forward-thinking organization has been her true passion ever since, and she has devoted herself to it full-time from the first day the clinic’s doors opened in July of 2007. Karn has also served as the President of FixNation’s Board of Directors since 2011.
Mark Dodge, In MemoriamCo-Founder
Shortly after graduating from UCLA, Mark Dodge served two years with the Army in Vietnam, completed law school and met and married Karn Myers. Once he and Karn became aware that there were legions of homeless cats living on the streets of Los Angeles, they felt compelled to do something and founded FixNation in 2007. Five years later Mark was diagnosed with a rare form of ALS, yet he continued to actively participate in all aspects of FixNation’s operations even as his health declined. Although Mark is no longer with us, his unwavering commitment to saving animals lives on. His kindness, compassion and ability to deeply connect with others left an unforgettable imprint on countless lives, and his passion for felines transformed the Los Angeles community’s ability to improve the welfare of tens of thousands of homeless cats and kittens.
