Celebrate National Spay/Neuter Month with FixNation’s 1,000 Cat Challenge

February ChallengeLast year, more than 56,000 dogs and cats entered Los Angeles City shelters. More than 17,000 adoptable, healthy or treatable shelter pets were killed.  The solution is fewer animals into shelters via spay/neuter access and more out via adoption and fostering efforts. The city shelter that receives the highest percentage of CATS annually is the East Valley shelter.

As part as Best Friends NKLA (No-Kill LA) initiative, FixNation has taken on the challenge to spay and neuter 1,000 pet cats for FREE from the leading zip codes that contribute to the East Valley Shelter intake volume. Those zip codes are 91405 (Van Nuys), 91342 (Sylmar), 91331 (Pacoima), 91605 (North Hollywood) and 91402 (Panorama City).

This is where you come in!

  • Do you live in one of these areas and need to have your kitty spayed or neutered?
  • Do you have friends and family that live in these areas?
  • Do you work in one of these areas?
  • Do you just want to help us meet our goal?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, WE NEED YOU!

If you would like to make an appointment, fill out the appointment request here.

If you would like to help spread the word and meet our goal,  please fill out our brief Volunteer Application and select East Valley Outreach under the Opportunities section of the application.

There are two large volunteer outreach efforts planned for Saturday February 9th and Saturday February 23rd from 12-3pm. Our Volunteer Coordinator, Dali Colorado will contact all interested volunteers with details about these two outreach event days.

RSVP for these outreach events on Facebook, and invite your friends!
