About: I have been an Insurance Industry Specialist for the last 25 years, but an animal lover my entire life!
City and neighborhood: Sunland, CA
Years volunteering at FixNation: 6+months
What brought you to want to volunteer for FixNation: Years ago, there was a big problem on my street, and at one time, I had over 30 feral cats living on my property. There were many more at other homes on the street as well. I live way back in the foothills. I think that people just drop cats back here and think they will survive. I heard about Fixnations services by word of mouth and began the process of trapping. Over time, I was able to catch everyone and the problem literally disappeared. As time goes on, it seems other cats show up and once again I need to use the services at Fixnation. I am so thankful that an organization such as Fixnation exists. Enabling me to help all the cats located on my street at no charge was a gift like no other. I wanted to give something back to the organization that made it all possible. That is how I came to volunteer at Fixnation. I will always be grateful for the excellent service I received from the staff, the vets, the techs, the volunteers and all the wonderful people who take the time to trap ferals and bring them in. They all deserve to be rewarded for their love and dedication to the feral cat population.
What is your favorite thing about volunteering at FixNation: My favorite thing about Volunteering at Fixnation is being part of a team that cares about each and every animal that comes through the front door.
