2. City and neighborhood? North Hollywood California, originally from Tucson, Az.
3. Years volunteering at FN? 5 years, since shortly after the clinic FixNation Clinic opened at it’s current location at 7680 Clybourn Ave., Los Angeles CA, 91352.
4. What brought you to want to volunteer for FN? I needed to get my job’s property cats fixed. I took them to a regular vet and it cost too much to get them fixed there. Someone told us about FixNation, so we contacted them and were able to receive both TNR training and borrow humane traps. I was shown how to use the traps and bring in the cats to the clinic. I couldn’t believe the amazing services FixNation offered for LA’s homeless cats. I was so thankful-but not in a position to financially contribute- so I decided that I’d show appreciation for everything that FixNation does by volunteering, which I’ve done ever since.
Additionally, I contacted the Feral Cat Caretakers Coalition and through working with Donna Baker, earned a certificate to legally TNR. I continue to work with the ferals in my neighborhood and throughout LA.
5. What is your favorite thing about volunteering at FN? I volunteer at FixNation because everyone-staff, volunteers, clients, and caretakers-loves cats just as much as I do. I love going home with the feeling that I have helped and contributed in some small way to such a great mission. I am proud to be part of FixNation.
6. What is your favorite viral cat video? We watch Jackson Galaxy’s My Cat From Hell every week on Animal Planet. Highly recommend! We never miss a show!
