Sponsored Spay/Neuter Days

We are developing a calendar of FixNation-supported events, including “Spay Days” for community cats and pop-up clinics in underserved neighborhoods. Sponsorships are tax-deductible and available to individuals, local businesses and corporations, and offer various opportunities for positive brand exposure.

Little Wild Cats Day

Our “Little Wild Cats Day” (May 29, 2025) was held to honor a donor named Gene and his late life partner Mimi. They shared a passion for animals and for Africa, so when Gene asked us to use his gift to help community cats, we thought an African theme would be ideal. Gene’s gift was kindly matched by a family friend, Kathy Taggares, a longtime FixNation supporter.

FixNation’s staff wore leopard ears, we had a special poster on display and our check-in table had a leopard print table cover. We also handed out a list of African names (and their meanings) for anyone with an unnamed community cat who needed some inspiration. More than 90 cats were spayed or neutered, vaccinated and treated like VIPs thanks to Gene and Kathy’s generous donations. More surgeries to come!

Shasta’s Super Spay Day

FixNation has received two generous donations to celebrate the memory of a beautiful gray, green-eyed cat named Shasta. After Shasta crossed the rainbow bridge, his heartbroken family created a legacy in his honor that funds the cost of spay/neuter surgeries for community cats in Los Angeles.

Our first event in Shasta’s memory was “Shasta’s Super Spay Day” in 2024, a day when we encouraged every client bringing in an unnamed community cat to give it a name starting with the letter S (just like Shasta’s name!). We had a long list of suggested names and every name used was written on a white board displayed outside the clinic. We also put “Hello, my name is….” stickers on each trap, with the kitty’s new name written in, and added the name to the cat’s offical surgery paperwork.

We hosted our second Shasta-sponsored “spay day” the following year. The FixNation team really got into the spirit, wearing cat ears and handing out free tote bags, postcards and tins of catnip to everyone who brought in a community cat that day.

Thanks to Shasta and his family, all these kitties are proud new members of the TNR tribe!
